Hey Camper Community, I have a question I have not been able to find the answer to and am crossing my fingers somebody here knows the answer. I’m a co-host in Baja California and am searching for STR insurance but cannot seem to find any information about this anywhere. Is Airbnb’s Aircover all I need?
We use Wister Insurance, but I’ll warn you for CA it’s expensive! Some co-hosts try to use local business insurance companies for lower rates, so you could try that option.
Aircover isn’t considered business insurance and they’re not easy to work with for reimbursements. If you would like a damage insurance option for each guest that would be a substitute for Aircover, we use Rental Guardian and really like them! Each booking is about $50 for us, and we bake that fee in the nightly rate. I know some people like Safely and others Wavio, Superhog is another option, but they involve the guest if a payout for damages happens.
